LBS8-R1: Tile Bridge

A tile bridge is often required by local building codes for safety reasons as well as for improved aesthetics in suspended 2'x2' or 2'x4' tile ceilings. It distributes the speaker's weight to the ceiling support structure, reducing the likelihood of tiles sagging under the weight of heavy speakers.

A&E SPECIFICATIONS

• The tile bridge shall be Lowell Model LBS8-R1, which shall be formed 24-gauge galvanized steel construction engineered to support and distribute the weight of an 8 inch speaker assembly to the ceiling support system in a 2'x2' or 2'x4' suspended ceiling. The tile bridge shall include provisions for seismic anchoring where required by code. The bridge shall measure 23.75 in. x 15.5 in. and have an opening with 10.75 in. diameter.
